The space shuttle
Atlantis came down safely Friday after a day's delay caused by weather at the preferred landing site. When rain and clouds continued at Cape Canaveral, the shuttle was diverted to Edwards AFB, ending a long and successful mission. As the shuttle's commander, Colonel Frederick W.
Sturckow, put it, “There were a lot of challenges on this mission and they were all surmounted."
